Naim Uniti Series gets AirPlay2 Support and Siri Voice Control

Yelling commands out loud to unseeing, but all-hearing computer software/hardware platforms just got easier for Naim Uniti owners. Following on the heels of the company’s Mu-so 2nd Generation announcement recently, Naim Audio has implemented AirPlay2 Support and Siri Voice Control on their Uniti Series of wireless music systems: the Atom, Star and Nova.

Once the update becomes available in your region, the Naim application will prompt Uniti owners to perform an over-the-air update. No muss, no fuss, no hunting down the download package on an updates page. Everything is handled in-app. Welcome to 2019.

Sweetening the wireless pot, Naim has said to have added enhanced buffering to improve Apple AirPlay 2 audio streaming performance. As long as your Apple device is on the network, users can access, play and control thier stored music libraries or streaming service of choice (Spotify, TIDAL, Apple Music, etc.) anywhere within range or play to different rooms in their homes.

Specific to the Uniti Star and Nova’s Internet Radio capabilities, Naim is offering an optional DAB/FM module upgrade. “Existing Uniti Star and Nova owners can have their players fitted retrospectively with the module through a retailer, while new customers can choose to have the module built-in during the ordering process.”

DAB/FM module upgrade for the Uniti Star and Uniti Nova is available at an SRP of $199 USD.

  • Uniti Atom $2,995 USD
  • Uniti Star $5,595 USD
  • Uniti Nova $6,995 USD

I’ve got a Naim Uniti Atom and Core in house now for review and will be writing on them in the near future.
